The tournament

The DDC European Open 2026 gave us a bit of everything: rain, sun and wind, sometimes all within the same round. Through it all, fourty players from across Europe and the United States kept playing — and the level only went up as the weekend went on.

By Sunday afternoon the wind had all but disappeared, and the final was played in near-perfect conditions. The quality of play matched them. As one veteran player put it afterwards:

“This was the best final I’ve seen in ten years.”

Lifetime achievement award

Olli Visamo was presented with a lifetime achievement award for his work in introducing and developing the sport of Double Disc Court in Finland. Without his efforts over the years, this tournament would simply not have happened.
